May 23, 2018
On Tuesday, May 22, 2018, Red Technologies (RED) was recognized by the Connecticut Society of Civil Engineers (CSCE) as part of the BSC Group-Consultant, Inc. (BSC) team at the 11th Annual Achievement in Civil Engineering (ACE) Awards. The ACE Awards commend projects in which significant engineering expertise or innovation is demonstrated, honoring the overall contributions of Connecticut Engineers and team members.
At the awards ceremony, BSC won the Transportation ACE Award for the Route 31 Roadway Reconstruction in Coventry as part of Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) Project No. 32-130. RED served as the project contractor.
The Route 31 Roadway reconstruction involved culvert replacement, rock cutting, storm drainage and sewer reconstruction, and architectural finish work from north of Stone House Road extending south past School Street. The final roadway widths are now wider than the original and greatly reworked with improved drainage, wider shoulders, better sightlines, smooth pavement and roadway protection.
